SuperRare is proud to host a dynamic, global community of artists, collectors, and cultural explorers. Unfortunately, with our reach and productivity, scammers and hackers are bound to target our community. While Web3 is exciting, safety should always be a priority.

We've put together an overview on how to spot crypto scams. We recommend reviewing the common scams our community encounters and staying vigilant.

If you're unsure about anything, reach out to [email protected] to verify.

Taking your time to confirm legitimacy can save you from a lot of headaches,, pain and loss of funds.

Official SuperRare Accounts

Please reference our list of Official SuperRare Social Media and Websites to verify legitimacy. Due to our popularity, we often face imposters or bad actors posing as SuperRare Labs employees. Any other accounts impersonating or claiming to be affiliated with SuperRare, whether publicly or via DM, may be scams and should be treated with caution. Please report any such accounts to the respective social media platform.

Common Scams & How to Avoid Them

Artist Invites to SuperRare

Invites for artists to join SuperRare will only arrive via email. Official emails from the SuperRare Labs team will always end in @superrare.com – no exceptions.

Fake SuperRare Interviews

If you receive an email regarding an interview, triple-check its legitimacy. It is rare for us to reach out to artists unexpectedly. Again, official emails will only come from @superrare.com. If you're asked to connect your wallet or download something, consider it a major red flag—this is a common scam tactic.

In Web3, anyone asking you to share your seed phrase or connect your wallet is likely attempting to hack and scam you.

Protecting Your Account

  • Never share your seed phrase with anyone.

  • Use a hardware wallet for the most secure protection.

  • Be cautious when interacting with unfamiliar services or individuals.

  • Verify official accounts before engaging.

What to Do If Your Wallet is Hacked

If you believe your wallet has been compromised, SuperRare Labs can help you create a new, secure account. However, users are solely responsible for securing their accounts.

Note: Stolen SuperRare NFTs may continue to exist outside our ecosystem (e.g., OpenSea). If hacked, immediately notify all marketplaces hosting your work and any other Web3 services you use.

Artists: Compromised Wallet

  1. Fill out the Compromised Wallet form.

  2. Use the email registered with your SuperRare account.

  3. Provide a link to your SuperRare profile and the public wallet address associated with it.

  4. If any works were transferred out during the hack, include those details.

  5. We’ll work to remove your compromised account and set up a fresh artist account displaying your existing creations.

Collectors: Compromised Wallet

  1. If possible, transfer remaining artworks to a secure wallet.

  2. If any artworks were stolen, fill out the Compromised Wallet form.

  3. We will assist in deleting your current account so you can move forward with a new one.

General Users: Account Deletion

If you have a SuperRare account but are not an artist or collector, you can request to delete your account via the Account Deletion form. This process may take a few weeks. Once completed, you can create a new profile with a fresh, uncompromised wallet and regain your original username if desired.
